About the Author

I love to play hide and seek. What wants to remain hidden most interests me; a lie, especially to oneself, a love that hides beneath the cover of hate, insecurities peeking out from behind false bravado, the subtle rhythm of place that makes pigeons bob their heads to the blinking of the traffic lights in a downtown district. It is my job as an author to look behind the masks of my characters, hunt for their truth in dusty tool sheds, studio casting couches, and corners of dive bars. When I find the truth of a person or place, I know that I have a story worth telling.

Joan Didion

“I write entirely to find out what I'm thinking, what I'm looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear.”
